Jekkyl & Hyde Hugo

Picking up where I left off, I started to do a bit more digging and discovered Jekkyl. This looked promising. Indeed, a lot of people have made some stunning sites with it. I gave it a whirl, but in the end, it was a bit too much for me. I got close, but wouldn't recommend this approach for the beginner. I do intend to go back some day and try again, but right now I don't have the skillz.

Then I found Hugo in another video by NetworkChuck. I kind of stumbled upon this when searching for ways to integrate Obsidian. It was exactly what I was looking for. I could write a post on Obsidian, send it to Hugo, which sends it to Github. This time Hostinger was used to host the site, and it was exactly what I was looking for. I'm still not sure why I couldn't host it on Github, but Hostinger isn't tha expensive so put it down to research costs, signed up and after an hour or two following along with the instructions from the video, I'd successfully created a blog site! Yay, it worked. I have to say, the effort Chuck put into this video and the writing the scripts is astounding. There is no way in a million years I was ever figuring this out for myself and I hope he gets some sort of kickback from my signing up.

This was not easy though. Chucks guide is phenomenal but still ran into a few bumps along the way. Here is the link to the video. I recommend everyone to watch it if this is something you are looking to do. I think you'll be impressed.

However, one small problem. I'm a "visual" person. I like things to look nice, and although this functioned as I wanted it to, it didn't look like I wanted it to. Function over form is something I usually adhere to, but dang it I want both this time! šŸ˜‰

The easiest option - Web host (Hostinger) and a Hostinger AI site, which I'll talk about in the next post.
